Fortress Investment Group is a leading asset management company established in New York. The American globally recognized firm centered its business on finances and investments.
SoftBank announced the acquisition of Fortress Investment Group in February 2017 and completed it in December of the same year. The Japanese international conglomerate bought the investment company for $3.3 billion. SoftBank preserved and supported the New York-based company after the acquisition. So, the company proceeded to run its business independently. It works with credit funds, private equity funds, liquid markets funds, and capital investments of clients internationally.
The investment management firm realized the need for knowledge about the industries and companies it has chosen to serve. Last month, the asset investment firm acquired Accordia Golf (a Japanese golf course chain). The leading investment company has previously bought several hotels in Japan.
However, this year, SoftBank is considering the prospect of selling the asset investment company. Four years after the acquisition, the Japanese conglomerate and the American investment expert have been discussing the selling of Fortress Investment Group, but the dialogue is at an initial stage. There is no comment from either of the companies at this moment.
